How to Win the Favour of a Powerful Monarch

Now here is a million-dollar question…Does God have favourites?

Imagine if you have the freedom of an audience with the most powerful monarch on earth: you have his ear, and he has permitted you to address him as you please. Isn’t that a privileged position?

I’m sure you have read, or watched enough shows to know that you would be the envy of the entire court.

Now consider what it would be like to be in such a position with the One who owns the whole universe: You might ask, does that position even exist – Is it possible to be God’s favourite?

If this privilege is an option, how does a person get into God’s ‘good graces’?

If this position is available, is it possible to achieve it seeing it is a station for which many would-be clamouring?

I am here to tell you that such a position does exist and it is not as difficult to enjoy the privilege of being God’s beloved.

To find out what it takes to become God’s delight, you have to understand what it means to be God’s favourite.

Being God’s favourite means that you have pleased Him, and you continually delight His heart.

The best example of this is in Jesus, the only begotten Son of God. At His baptism, the Father’s voice resounded:

This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Matthew 13:17 (kjv)

Jesus, as the beloved Son, tells us the reason the Father loves Him and gives an insight to how we too can become dear to the Father;

The Father has an intense love for me because I freely give my own life–to raise it up again.

John 10:17 (tpt)

He is the beloved because He was willing to give His life for the will of the Father.

Just as an obedient child endears himself to his parents, when we are obedient to God and diligent in keeping the instructions He gives us, we win a special place in His heart.

Being the Father’s beloved means that you are in line to receive uncommon favour.

Think of it this way…

…Two people desire favour from a monarch: one is loyal and obedient, while the other is insufferable and incorrigible.

Which servant do you think would obtain the king’s benevolence?

Accordingly, the child that obeys God in every decision he comes across has more favour with God than the child that would not even consider seeking God’s will to do it.

In conclusion, it is not a competition. There is enough place in God for everyone to be His favourite.

All you need to concern yourself with is making sure that you are obedient.
